This week we joined in with Safer Internet Day 2026, which took place on 10th February. The theme this year was “Smart tech, safe choices” — all about helping children think about the AI and smart technology they use every day, and how to make good, safe decisions online.

The online safety team presented an assembly to start the day. 

At Berkley School, we talked about how exciting and helpful AI can be, but also why it’s important to understand it and use it sensibly. The children took part in activities that helped them spot reliable information, keep their personal details safe, and make thoughtful choices when using online tools.

Safer Internet Day is all about helping young people feel confident in the digital world, and our pupils really impressed us with their ideas and discussions this year.
